Day 3 - Challenge accomplished! You can still help :)

A great morning on shift with Orange Sky Australia in Mackay with plenty of conversations flowing. People were standing beside me, accepting that I’d been in my kit for 3. Its one of the great things about being in a safe environment, with non-judgemental conversations, your clothes don’t matter, it’s the person that’s inside that counts!

Day 2 - Added some teal

I added a teal flower on my Sudsy Challenge Day 2.  It might not have added any fragrance, but it has added some colour.

Ancient Greeks and Romans, even Egyptians, carried fragrant herbs and spices to ward off bad luck.  Brides started carrying flowers to mask their body odor.  I’m hoping it is a lucky omen for me, and that I don’t need to be ‘masked’ from “Wearing my kit for 3!”.     😊😊😊

I’m thinking that one flower might not have been enough.  Wearing my socks for a second day is something that I’m finding as new experience, and not a favourable one!

The Sudsy Challenge is more than just wearing a bright orange shirt for three days. By keeping my kit on and raising funds, I’m helping support our teams in Mackay & Sarina , ensuring they can be there for communities across Australia.

Day 1 - My challenge has begun

So inspired to see the passion and commitment from our Orange Sky volunteers as they’ve taken on the Sudsy Challenge 2024 to raise much needed funds and having the conversations that will help change the misconceptions about homeless – and the lives of those in need!

When I saw (as I don’t have a sense of smell 😊) that our volunteer Sudsy Challenge team members were into their challenge, I had to start leaving my kit on for 3!  I was planning to start in a couple of days with my 2024 shirt, but hey my 2023 shirt knows what the three days is about and was ready for another round.

Going for more, wanting to make a bigger difference

Thanks to those who have supported me with donations.  It certainly means a lot to me, and our Friends who come in each week to access the laundry machines and have a chat.
It may be simple, but its' effective, as every volunteer on shift gets to make a meaningful connection.
Your donations have encouraged me to raise the bar, increasing my fundraising target.
Can you help?  Together we can make a difference!

September is nearly here

Only 2 more sleeps till "Sudsy September".
I've been out and about in my Sudsy T-shirt.  If you'd like on, sign up to the Challenge and when you raise your first $48 it will be on its' way to you.
If the challenge is not for you, then please consider a donation.  I"m keeping my kit on for 3 days!

I’m keeping my kit on for The Sudsy Challenge!

I'm not changing my clothes for three days to help change the lives of people experiencing homelessness.

This September, I'll be taking on The Sudsy Challenge to raise funds and awareness for Orange Sky - an organisation providing access to free laundry, warm showers and genuine conversation.

Every dollar makes a difference, and I'd love if you could support me by making a donation!
